Staff from Wessex Archaeology attended the Private View of the new Wessex Gallery at Salisbury Museum yesterday evening. The event was officially opened by Simon Timms, Chair of the Heritage Lottery Fund’s South West Committee. Several of our staff, including Andrew Manning (director of the excavations at Amesbury/Boscombe Down) and archaeologist Phil Harding were present, and on hand to discuss some of the key exhibits that have been found from excavations undertaken by Wessex Archaeology.

Congratulations to the Salisbury Museum for creating a wonderful new gallery that showcases the rich, nationally important and varied archaeology of Wessex. The Grand Opening will be held on Saturday 12 July.
