Manager Key staff Geomatics & Survey

I lead the Geomatics department at Wessex Archaeology. My area of expertise is in a range of metric survey techniques, photography and 3D modelling, and I am passionate about the ability of high quality data to transform heritage practice. As part of my role I have instigated the adoption of new survey techniques within the company including the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). I have also developed new recording methodologies and lead the company Building Information Modelling (BIM) implementation. As well as managing standalone projects, I provide advice and specialist services to other parts of the company, enabling our staff to do their jobs more efficiently.

I previously taught archaeological and survey methods at the University of Southampton and am a Corresponding Member of The Survey Association (TSA) Committee. My research interests include archaeological methods and epistemology, landscape archaeology, monumentalisation and the Mesolithic-Neolithic transition.

Outside of work I teach Shaolin Kung Fu and I am learning to play the guitar.
