Geomatics & Survey

Since joining the Wessex Archaeology Scotland office, I have been working closely with the Geomatics team on projects throughout the UK.

I have worked in commercial archaeology for the past 12 years, the first nine of which were spent in the field, working as a Field Archaeologist and supervising sites in and around East Anglia.

As my site knowledge developed, I started to grow an interest in the capturing of digital data, sparked when I worked on a site called Must Farm in 2010.  Here I developed skills in techniques such as laser scanning, photogrammetry, geophysics and first used a total station. From then on, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Geomatics.

I have continued to work in this role since then, gaining new knowledge and skills, including in GIS, RTI and UAV surveys. I’m now keen to put my skill set to use at Wessex Archaeology and to continue to develop myself.

On a personal note, I am a keen sportswoman, having completed Ride London (a 100-mile bike ride through London and Surrey) and the Cambridge half marathon in 2019. Aside from this I also enjoy print making, collecting vinyl, hanging out with my sausage dog and consuming a really good cup of coffee.
