ExpertiseFieldwork Archaeology Key staff
I am responsible for the business development and day to day running of the Welsh office based in Welshpool, Powys. This involves managing major projects in the energy and transport sectors including windfarms and road schemes. It is my job to continue to expand and maintain the business in these competitive markets.
I have a strong background in heritage consultancy, planning advice and managing fieldwork projects including 18 years’ experience in commercial archaeology. My experience includes overseeing a wide variety of projects comprising large scale excavations in Bognor Regis to investigate the prehistoric landscape, deep urban excavations in the nationally important Roman fort at Chester, and geophysical survey and excavations around the scheduled Anglo-Saxon earthwork of Wat’s Dyke. I have also published a monograph on excavations at the inland Roman salt production site at Middlewich.
I appeared for many years as one of the core archaeologists on Channel 4’s Time Team and co-presented the last two series of ‘Digging for Britain’ with Professor Alice Roberts.
My aim is to promote interest and excitement in archaeology to the public and the next generation of professionals. I try to ensure that the projects I work on are interesting, fun and profitable to all involved.
I love cooking and I am currently experimenting with a wood fired oven in my garden.
