David Norcott

An analytical problem-solver at heart, during my 25 years in professional archaeology, I have established a reputation for developing successful and creative solutions to managing the historic environment in challenging terrestrial and marine environments, and for building strong, trust-based relationships along the way.

In my current role, I am a member of the Senior Leadership Team and lead our organisation in business development in the UK and internationally. This involves building strategic relationships with clients and partners who share our values, shaping our work pipeline, and connecting our outstanding people and their expertise with the needs of industry, communities and the wider world.

Particular areas of focus for me currently are Australian offshore wind, especially as regards submerged cultural landscapes and sustainable development in Sea Country, and developing our sector-leading technical services globally, particularly in the marine environment.

Prior to my current role, I have been a field archaeologist, geoarchaeologist, team leader and technical manager, and in the mists of time, an electronic engineer. Outside of work, I enjoy running with the dog, messing about on the water and drinking cocktails with friends – not necessarily in that order.
