Wessex Archaeology West have recently welcomed Ray Holt to our ranks. Ray joins our Bristol office as Project Officer with 20 years’ experience in British Archaeology, and has worked on sites from Anglesey to the Northeast.
He has significant experience of working on large infrastructure projects as well as major housing developments, and brings with him a broad range of skills including building recording, landscape survey as well as a good working knowledge of urban stratigraphy. In addition to the day to day running of sites he is looking forward to boosting our outreach activities and is an old hand at delivering talks and presentations to diverse groups.
Outside work, Ray's interests lie in sustainable building, preparedness and permaculture. Ray built his family home off grid where he lives with his partner and two daughters by solar and wind power alone. His free time is spent tending a large vegetable garden.
