Angela Batt

Human Resources Director
Angela joined Wessex Archaeology in 1996 as part of the fieldwork team and during her fieldwork career she worked on and directed a number of sites including Heathrow T5 and Stansted as part of the original Framework team. Following on from this she directed the first phase of work at Kingsmead Quarry Horton in 2004.
In 2006 she decided to capitalise on her experience of over 10 years’ fieldwork at Wessex to make the resource planning process and recruitment of new field staff as easy as possible. Her aim was to improve the experience for new starters and recent graduates by ensuring they had all the information they needed to start working for the company. In 2013 Angela was appointed the Human Resources Manager and has been modernising the HR process, updating policies and procedures, re-writing job descriptions and streamlining the HR skills and training capture. Angela’s interest in the HR function ranges from employment law and best practice, communication and improving company culture and behaviours, learning and development and ensuring Wessex as a company embraces fairness, inclusion and respect in everything. This has culminated in her being appointed Human Resources Director in October 2016.
