3252 Bruce Eaton

Project Manager
Since graduating in 1998, Bruce has worked in commercial archaeology on a wide range of projects, across the UK, including the Bath Southgate Project; a major excavation prompted by urban regeneration which identified archaeology dating from the Mesolithic period through to the Baedeker raid of 1942. In 2009 he became a freelance archaeological consultant and contractor undertaking consultancy and fieldwork, as well as outreach and engagement projects with primary schools. His skills as an illustrator were also employed to produce a new drawn survey of the larconicum at the Roman Baths in Bath.
Bruce joined Wessex Archaeology in early 2015 as a Project Manager in Salisbury, moving to Wessex Archaeology (West) in Bristol in 2016. Since then he has managed the excavation of an extensive Mid-Saxon cemetery, a Late-Saxon cemetery disturbed by church renovations on Bradford on Avon, several Romano-British farmsteads, major utilities infrastructure projects and the excavation of the post-medieval Avon Street district as part of the redevelopment of Bath Quays.
