Chris Brayne

Head of IT

Chris leads the development and growth of Heritage IT services at Wessex Archaeology. He started life as a Landscape Architect and was involved in large EIA projects, which is where he developed his interest and skills in CAD, GIS and IT systems. This enables him to provide key input into a broad array of projects involving heritage management, historic landscape characterisation and building recording.

Current special interest areas include topographic and wide area survey techniques, GIS, mobile computing, GPS, laser scanning and heritage asset management systems. Chris continues to direct research and develop business support services at Wessex whilst providing high level strategic consultancy advice and services to clients.
