Kirsten Dinwiddy

Osteoarchaeologist

1291 Kirsten Dinwiddy

Kirsten worked as a field archaeologist in Ireland and London before joining Wessex Archaeology in August 2001. In her role as Fieldwork Director she oversaw and reported on a wide range of excavations, particularly urban sites and those with funerary archaeology. Kirsten undertakes the assessment and analysis of the unburnt human remains from both in-house excavations and external clients, the material ranging in date from the Bronze Age to Post-medieval periods. She is also an adept post-excavation stratigraphic data analyst and report writer, with a proven publication record including specialist contributions, journal articles, and monographs.

Kirsten also orchestrated the successful relationship between Wessex Archaeology and the Jon Egging Trust, which together with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, provide archaeology-themed ‘inspiration days’ as part of the Blue Skies youth enrichment programme.
