World Environment Day 2014

Wessex were invited to talk at the Victoria Station Upgrade Project on the 5th June for World Environment Day. Geoarchaeology and Environmental manager David Norcott covered the ongoing geoarchaeological project at VSU itself and the history of the Victoria Station area in its London context, and tied into the day’s environmental theme with reconstructions of past environments from the local area. The assorted collection of finds he took to show off (including cannon balls, mammoth teeth, handaxes and a decommissioned WWII German machine gun) went down very well with the audience but proved very heavy to transport on the train!

The packed audience included staff from Taylor Woodrow, BAM Nuttall and Thames Water.
