Extracting the Past
We are delighted to announce an open day event to showcase the finds and story behind the excavations at Kingsmead Quarry, Horton.
This FREE event will be held in
Wraysbury Village Hall,
Berkshire (TW19 5NA),
on Saturday 27th April 2013
between 10.30 am to 3.30 pm
The hall is within easy reach from the M25. M3, M4 and A30.
You will be able to come along to our exhibition which explores the secrets of the site as we present the hidden past beneath Horton’s ancient landscape and uncover the imprints left by farming, community and ritual activity.
• Learn about the interesting and unique evidence
• Meet the archaeologists
• View the artefacts
• Examine a skeleton
There will also be a number of activities aimed at children including pot making to example excavations.
Channel 4’s Time Team favourite Phil Harding will also be in attendance to provide a master class demonstration in flint knapping!
