The Steart Point Peninsula Project has received the 2013 Environment Agency Exemplar Award for Health, Safety & Environment. This award is made annually to only one project, and if no project is deemed suitable, the award is not made; as such, it is extremely difficult to secure.

Gary Haley, from the Environment Agency construction SH&E team, said: “The consistently high safety, health and environmental standards the project team has shown while dealing with so many constraints made this project stand out, and deserve this award.”

Matt Phillips Project Manager at Team Van Oord acknowledges that the sub-contractors had a major part to play in the overall project so far, and Wessex Archaeology is proud to have contributed to the success of the Steart Point Habitat Creation Scheme.
