Inspired by Pound Arts Feel Good Pack, which went out during the first lockdown in 2020, the Wessex Archaeology Heritage Feel Good Pack sees us using heritage, archaeology and place as the ingredients for the activities within the pack. The range of access points and methods in which people can engage with the pack hopefully means that heritage is more accessible to a wider range of people.
We have partnered up with Pound Arts (based in Corsham, North Wiltshire) to deliver a Heritage Feel Good Pack.
Pound Arts created their first pack back in January 2021. Since then, they estimate that it has reached over 20k people, from Care Homes to doctors’ surgeries, schools to individuals, the pack has been a huge success, and a beautiful item to own and to dip into as and when.
We are delighted that Pound Arts has asked us to help them co-create what will be one of three Feel Good Packs (the first one was aimed at older people, and they have also just produced one aimed at younger people), this time using heritage, archaeology, and landscape as the inspiration for a range of wellbeing activities.
The Heritage Feel Good pack was funded by The Magnifying Public Benefit Fund (MPBF). The MPBF is a Wessex Archaeology funding commitment to enable individual staff, or teams, to contribute to the delivery of our public benefit ambitions, specifically in relation to promoting inclusion and access to heritage.
This pack was a perfect project for the MPBF to support. The content came together by a call out to staff, some great ideas came forward and the studio worked on the design. The pack itself displays heritage in an accessible and engaging format providing something for everyone.
