Last Saturday saw the Salisbury & South Wiltshire District Scouts gather together to celebrate St George’s Day, supported by Wessex Archaeology’s Community & Education Team.

The celebration, which also marked the 900th anniversary of St George’s Church in Harnham, started with over 300 scouts parading from Salisbury Cathedral to Harnham recreation ground where a St George’s Day fair was in full swing. A steel band, historical reenactors and alpacas were on display, whilst the scouts tried their hands at archery, canoeing and archaeology!
