In November 2014 Wessex Archaeology carried out historic building recording of the facade of Pontypridd Railway Station. This Grade II Listed Building was constructed between 1907 and 1914 as part of the Taff Vale Railway which ran from Cardiff to Merthyr Tydfil. Since then the station has been remodelled in the 1970s and 1990s though traces of the original Art Noveau design still remain.
