Expertise

Fieldwork Archaeology

I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2016 as a project officer working in fieldwork. My role involves managing small- to medium-sized excavations and evaluations, undertaking watching briefs and reporting findings to clients.

I have worked on several sites, including a large excavation at Westbury where we found evidence for Late Bronze Age occupation, a deep stratigraphy urban project in Winchester where we found medieval tenements, and undertaking a watching brief at HMS Daedulus monitoring the excavation of a cable trench.

I’m driven by the desire to lead by example, so that my team always knows that I will muck in to ensure the job gets done to the best of our combined ability - no matter how complex the job is and whatever the changeable British weather decides to throw at us.

Outside of work I enjoy live music and walking with my wife and our dog. I also enjoy reading, especially fantasy, dabbling at photography and playing the bass guitar.
