Expertise

Research Specialist

I joined Wessex Archaeology as a field archaeologist in 2003 and am now a finds specialist with a particular interest in earlier prehistoric pottery. Within my role I undertake the assessment and analysis of a broad range of finds types including ceramic building material, fired clay, small finds, ranging in date from the Neolithic through to the post-medieval periods. I also regularly contribute to journal articles and monographs.

During my time with Wessex Archaeology I have also been involved in the post-excavation analysis and reporting of sites such as Kingsmead Quarry, Horton and King’s Gate, Amesbury and prepared large archives for deposition within museums. I have also undertaken several external reviews of museum collections.

I am motivated by a desire to keep learning new things, sharing my knowledge and teaching others.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time gardening and working on my allotment, exploring the great outdoors and travelling, and sometimes doing more archaeology!
