Expertise

Geophysics

I have worked for Wessex Archaeology as a marine geophysicist in the Salisbury Office since 2005, working on projects ranging in scale from small, individual wreck surveys to large offshore wind farms and regional scale environmental characterisations. My work principally involves the processing and interpretation of marine geophysical data and report writing.  I am a Chartered Scientist and Chartered Marine Scientist and have contributed to publications including papers in various journals and several books. I often lead teams working on large complex projects and undertake quality control of work done by other members of the team plus some project management. I also play a key role in ensuring that our reports and output are high quality and suit our clients’ needs.

I am motivated by the challenge of complex projects and providing straightforward solutions along with the potential for new archaeological discoveries in every new area of seabed we look at.

Outside of work I have varied interests including gardening, exploring the countryside, sailing on tall ships as a volunteer bosun’s mate with a charity, and working on firework displays as a qualified pyrotechnician.
