Amber McNamara

My background is in English Literature and I have a Masters in Creative Writing. After a stint in academia and teaching, I decided to retrain and pursue my passion for storytelling through the medium of social media. I love learning from our incredibly knowledgeable team and take great pleasure in drawing out the human story behind each artefact.

In my current role, I support with the scheduling and management of Wessex Archaeology’s social media as well as creating content, copywriting and handling press enquiries. I have always loved history and share our audience’s excitement for uncovering the past. My working day is wonderfully varied; I could be writing about a Bronze Age child’s doodle in the morning, and an Anglo-Saxon cemetery by the afternoon!
