Cai Mason

I began my career working on urban excavations in London for Wessex Archaeology in 2002 and after a period working for other companies, re-joined as a Senior Fieldwork Archaeologist in our Bristol office in 2014, where I was responsible for directing a wide range of fieldwork projects, notably our excavation at Bath Quays, Bath Abbey and the Bedminster Smelting Works.

Since 2022, my work has primarily focussed on the post-excavation and publication stages of archaeological projects. My particular interest lies in urban, industrial and church archaeology, particularly of the medieval and post-medieval periods.
