Expertise

Post-Excavation

I am an senior environmental archaeologist, specialising in the analysis of archaeobotanical evidence including plant macroremains, charcoal and wood. Based in the Salisbury office, I undertake the assessment, analysis and reporting of environmental evidence. I trained at the Department of Archaeology, Durham University, completing my PhD in 2020, before going onto work as an environmental specialist for Archaeological Services Durham University. Following this, I then joined Wessex Archaeology in 2021.

Thematically, my research interests cover the relationship between agriculture, wider societal change and the environment. In particular, I have a strong interest in the contribution of palaeoenvironmental data to understanding long-term trajectories of ecological change and present-day biodiversity patterns.
