Expertise

Manager Marine Services

From my base in Cornwall, I am part of the Marine Services team and work on a wide variety of both commercial and heritage sector projects in renewable energy including offshore wind farms; cable and pipeline routes; marine aggregate licences and port and harbour developments with associated capital dredging projects. I have also co-ordinated regional environmental characterisation surveys for the Thames, South Coast, Humber and East Coast regions.

I originally joined Wessex Archaeology in 2005 as Project Manager, coming from a background as a marine geophysicist working in marine survey and environmental impact assessment for marine and coastal developments. I have a particular interest in submerged prehistory and in historic aircraft and am a member of the Nautical Archaeology Society and PIANC. I am also a fellow of the Geological Society and have a degree in Geology and Masters’ degree in Petroleum Geology.

Marine archaeology motivates me because it is advancing so rapidly as a discipline and we are always finding new things. Our understanding of the seabed has evolved so much over the last decade resulting in many exciting and important offshore developments.
