Expertise

Manager Fieldwork Archaeology

I am a fieldwork project manager based in the South of England Region.  I have nearly 30 years’ experience in a wide range of heritage projects and sectors across England and Wales. I have previously worked for the Universities of Bristol and Exeter, Dorset County Council, The Portable Antiquities Scheme and a number of archaeological Units. Most recently I was Senior Project Manager at Archaeology Wales where I managed a range of consultancy, geophysical and archaeological projects.

I gained my PhD from Bristol University in 2004, my thesis was entitled ‘The Roman to Medieval Transition in the Environs of South Cadbury Castle, Somerset’ and has been published as BAR British Series Vol. 399.

I am delighted to be working for such a prestigious organisation at Wessex Archaeology. My values in supporting and promoting heritage for the benefit of wider society align perfectly with those of Wessex Archaeology. I am also motivated to put my experience and knowledge to good use in a wide range of projects, including large infrastructure projects, for the benefit of our clients.

Outside of work I enjoy cycling, wild swimming, and gardening. I am currently Treasurer of my local allotment society. I am also a trustee and director of St Anne’s Hall, Babbacombe, a grade II listed building, where I enjoy organising events for the benefit of the local community.
