John Powell

I am part of the fieldwork team based in Salisbury and in my current role as a Senior Project Officer I am responsible for the day to day running of archaeological excavations during fieldwork, post-excavation and publication phases. My job encompasses all aspects of project work including directing teams, ensuring the health and safety of my colleagues and recording, interpreting and publishing archaeological sites.

In recent years, my work has been focused in the Middle Thames Valley area where I am working on two large aggregate quarries, Riding Court Farm, Datchet and Kingsmead Quarry, Horton. These sites have produced exciting prehistoric discoveries and are both large scale, multi-period landscape excavations.
