Expertise

Director

Data is integral to all that we do and is the foundation of a sustainable business. As Data, Innovation & Technology Director, I am responsible for how we manage and use data across the organisation so that it is handled responsibly, used effectively, and adds real value to our work. I also support how we use technology in ways that enhance what we do to meet our vision and values.

I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2006 employing my experience as a geologist and geophysicist to their applications to archaeology. More recently my experience is in managing and leading teams delivering a range of technical services. Throughout my career I have been involved in data management initiatives relating to metadata and archiving standards.

My career has been underpinned by the creation, use and management of digital data and use in systems and I am interested in how we can use data in new and smarter ways to support our strategic goals, looking for opportunities to unlock value in our data beyond its original purpose. With a deep interest in data ethics, I believe in the responsible and transparent use of information, ensuring that innovation aligns with our organisational values.
