Thomas Wicks

I joined Wessex Archaeology as our Conservator in 2021. I was previously based at the Conservation and Museums Advisory Service at Wiltshire Council, where I worked on a range of archaeological and historic objects. With extensive experience undertaking x-raying for various archaeological units, since joining Wessex Archaeology I have completed further training in radiation safety and serve as the radiation protection supervisor for the company.

I work closely with the other specialists during conservation and am involved at various stages of a project, from advising on lifting and stabilisation requirements on site to investigative conservation and analysis during post-excavation. I primarily specialise in working with archaeological metals and enjoy working with a broad range of material types and objects, including non-archaeological objects.
