ExpertiseCommunity & Education
I joined the Community Engagement team in Salisbury in 2019. As a Community Engagement Coordinator, I am responsible for helping to develop and deliver Wessex Archaeology’s schools programme, coordinating volunteers, delivering events nationally, delivering partner activity with JET and other groups, supporting our student placements and curating our handling collection and loans boxes. My role enables me to engage the public with archaeology in new and exciting ways to deliver on our charitable aims.
After studying Archaeology at Nottingham University and an MLitt in Material Culture, I began developing educational programmes in museums which gave me the opportunity to explore how these sessions can be used to support and enhance in class learning.
Archaeology provides an opportunity to develop cross-curricular links that can inspire the next generation. I am enjoying sharing my love of archaeology and connecting communities with their local history and that of the wider world.
Outside of work my time is spent either doing aerial gymnastics or exploring the nearest castle.
