ExpertiseDirector Coastal & Marine
I joined Wessex Archaeology in 2012 becoming Director in 2016. As Head of Coastal & Marine, I provide advice and specialist services for both maritime and terrestrial development projects. I also oversee all fieldwork and projects taking place out of the Scottish office. My academic and commercial background in terrestrial and maritime archaeology spans nearly 20 years and I have particular expertise in the conservation and management of the marine and terrestrial historic environment, environmental impact assessment, the archaeology of maritime installations and boat and ship archaeology. In addition, I have managed a number of large high profile renewables and infrastructure projects, as well as marine aggregates and numerous harbour expansion and maintenance schemes.
I am involved with a number of committees and specialist groups including the Scottish Archaeological Research Framework (ScARF) Advisory Board; Convener of the Maritime Taskforce for the Built Environment Forum for Scotland and am a Regional Tutor for the Nautical Archaeological Society.
